BLURB:
People call me all sorts of names—bad girl, black sheep, and my all-time favorite...Satan’s bride. I could blame the fact I’m a witch for my behavior, but the truth is I’m infuriating, arrogant, and stab-worthy.

Alex Remington is a hunter and everything I’m not—righteous, honest, caring. We used to have a thing, but that was before he learned I’m a witch and tried to kill me.

Eighteen months later, he’s back in my life and we have a deal; I’ll help him save his brother and he’ll disappear from my life for good. But karma can be a real bitch…

I received a copy of the body from the author in exchange for an honest review.
That being said, I love witches so whoop whoop I was excited, plus the author was really nice and understanding!

THE WORLD: So the world in this book is pretty much how we know it. Just add to that witches and witch hunters. Oh and demons and crazy priests and all the voodoo stuff. Yeah, I think it covers it all. I can easily say it is a definitely urban fantasy type of world we all love.

CHARACTERS: Our main character is called Amanda (thank you author for not using any crazy complicated names, simple common names are my absolute favorite). Our Amanda is a witch but I must say she is also many other things. Basically Amanda is a descendant of a famous and glorious witch line and well as it was put in the book 'a rotten apple'. She is basically on her own working as a future teller and well all the little jobs witches do. Additionally, she is described as very attractive and definitely has a long tongue. Frankly, that is the main thing I did not like about her and book in general, the language is very very harsh. There was just too much swearing and rude nicknames for my taste. But let's just go back to characters. Yes, next to Amanda we have Alex who is a witch hunter. It of course complicates things because well Amanda is a witch and Alex hunts witches. But they end up working together to find and save Alex's brother from crazy priest.

LOVE: Okay so the interesting thing was that the love happened already in the past and we are now in post-event state. Basically once upon a time Amanda and Alex were sorta in a relationship but then Alex found out she is a witch and well...you get the idea.

PLUS: The story line was very interesting, if you put all swearing aside it was strong and actually rather shocking. I would even say trigger warning very much. I expected this book to be about witches but it is actually a detective in a way where a witch and a witch hunter teams up to solve the mystery. And the mystery end up being very realistic. I was not sure how I felt about it actually, I did not expected it so again for those who want to read this book be aware of trigger warnings!

MINUS: As I already mentioned for me the huge problem was the swearing and rude nicknames. I get that it sets the character but it was just way too much, there was no need to repeat it again and again and again. Sadly, for me it was too big of a minus to give this book more than 3 stars even tho the story line itself was worth definitely more.

OVERALL: So all in all I liked it and I would recommend it for sure but once again be aware of trigger warnings, harsh language and well...at least I was a little bit mislead by the blurb. But now you know :)
