MONDAY POEM: COME LITTLE CHILDREN from Hocus Pocus

Happy Monday dear readers, Happy HALLOWEEN!!! I cannot believe it's already Halloween, I love this holiday, I think it's amazing that we have a day in a year we can let our freak out and just dive into the world of supernatural and magic! As you know for this month every Monday we rear a scary poem, and today on Halloween I will show you the most scary and wonderful poem/song I think was ever created!

Today we are reading

COME LITTLE CHILDREN BY JAMES HORNER AND BROCK WALSH (HOCUS POCUS)

Let's get to know Hocus Pocus:
Hocus Pocus is a 1993 American comedy-horror Halloween film directed by Kenny Ortega; starring Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy, and Sarah Jessica Parker; written by Neil Cuthbert and Mick Garris; and based on a story by Garris and David Kirschner. It follows the villainous trio of witches, who are inadvertently resurrected by a male teenager as a virgin in Salem, Massachusetts. I have seen this movie more than I can count and it is my number one all time favorite Halloween movie! The song that one of the witched - Sarah - sings was created by Borck Walsh and the music wad written by Jame Horner.

Come Little Children

Come little children
I’ll take thee away
Into a land of enchantment

Come little children
The time’s come to play
Here in my garden of shadows

Follow, sweet children
I’ll show thee the way
Through all the pain and the sorrows
Weep not poor children
For life is this way
Murdering beauty and passions

Hush now, dear children
It must be this way
To weary of life and deceptions
Rest now, my children
For soon we’ll away
Into the calm and the quiet

Come little children
I’ll take thee away
Into a land of enchantment
Come little children
The time’s come to play
Here in my garden of shadows

Let me start by saying that while I am a rational person, I still once in a while think that magic is a real deal!. Yes, yes whatever, deal :D I think it's just more fun this way, to think that there might be something out there that cannot be explained by the rational and I choose to believe that. I have been interested in witches my entire life, something about that concept allures me and I like that saying that there's a witch in every woman because you know, there damn is! Power to us sisters! Anyway coming back to the movie, it's great, it's fun and I recommend to watch it believe me you will not be disappointed!  As for this song, I think it's brilliant! It's so catchy and the way it's written could really lure little kids to the witches house. I leave you with an interpretation for this song which I find amazing and really spooky! Happy Halloween readers and remember I put a spell on you - to have fun this Halloween ;)
