BLURB:
Louise is a single mom, a secretary, stuck in a modern-day rut. On a rare night out, she meets a man in a bar and sparks fly. Though he leaves after they kiss, she’s thrilled she finally connected with someone.

When Louise arrives at work on Monday, she meets her new boss, David. The man from the bar. The very married man from the bar…who says the kiss was a terrible mistake but who still can’t keep his eyes off Louise.

And then Louise bumps into Adele, who’s new to town and in need of a friend, but she also just happens to be married to David. David and Adele look like the picture-perfect husband and wife, but then why is David so controlling, and why is Adele so scared of him?

As Louise is drawn into David and Adele’s orbit, she uncovers more puzzling questions than answers. The only thing that is crystal clear is that something in this marriage is very, very wrong, but Louise can’t guess how wrong―and how far a person might go to protect their marriage’s secrets.

EXPECTATIONS: I have been really intro thrillers for a bit now and this one was recommended to me as one of the good ones.

THE WORLD: It is in a way a domestic thriller so the world is very similar to ours which makes it really easy to relate to. However, there is also paranormal in it which I did not know when going into this book and it actually was the reason why I gave this book only 4 stars.

CHARACTERS: There are three main characters: Adele and her husband David and Louise who is David's secretory. Each character is made to be a perfect prop in the story. Adele is a scared housewife who accidentally meets and befriends Louise and then of course Louise starts to dig why Adele is so scared of David and why is David so set on controlling and knowing everything Adele does...And of course David and Louise develop romantic relationship behind Adele's back. It is a very simple and many times use plot. But it would not be a thriller if it did not go deeper into more sinister things. I will not tell you any of them because that would be spoilers but trust me, this whole picture that we get at first is sooooo messed up and twisted.

ROMANCE: Adele and David have been married for a long time and so their romance is a bit off but then David starts to fall for Louise which of course is cheating but trust me if you are against cheating just push through these few pages. Things get way way darker from there.

GOOD: I have read a few very hyped thrillers lately that were extremely disappointing so this one really stood out to me. I don't think it's very wow but it is a good thriller.

BAD: As I already mentioned there is a paranormal element in this story and it kinda ruined the ending for me. Yes I did not see it coming but it's like cheating the reader a bit.

OVERALL: It is a great book and I would really recommend it if you are a fan of thrillers but just be aware there will be paranormal things in it.

What do you think about BEHIND HER EYES?
