BLURB:
After five years in the Summerlands, Gideon has gained his freedom. Elizabeth knows he will go straight for Tegan, and that she must protect the girl she had come to regard as her own daughter. In the time since she the dramatic night in Batchcombe woods, Tegan has travelled the world learning from all manner of witches, and she is no longer the awkward teenager and novice spellcaster she once was. However, her skills are no match for Gideon's dark, vengeful power, and he succeeds in capturing her. Will Elizabeth be able to find her? Will they be able to defeat their nemesis once and for all?

EXPECTATIONS: Despite this book being the 4th one and last in Witches series of Brackston this book is actually a direct sequel to the first book. Yes I know the order of this series is really off.

THE WORLD: I would say same as ours but for magic and witches. In the first book the evil Gideon is kicked off to the sorta hell but apparently by now he has gathered followers and comes back to Earth for revenge.

CHARACTERS: There are two main characters: Elizabeth and Tegan. Elizabeth is and old witch, she was actually just a teen when she first met Gideon and Tegan is now a grown woman, a powerful witch once taught by Elizabeth. Frankly I like them both, or maybe I like Tegan but I love Elizabeth. She is just such a powerful woman, a very good representation of witches how I imagine them. And Tegan...so in first book Tegan was very impulsive annoying teenagers but as now she is a grown woman her character has developed a lot.

ROMANCE: Gideon tends to make his victims believe they are in love with him but in general this book does not focus on romance.

GOOD: It's about witches and it is a sequel about Elizabeth who I really enjoyed in the first book.

BAD: There was something lacking, this book just did not wow me at all.

OVERALL: It was an okay ending to an okay series but definitely not my favorite. If you like witches and historical fiction def go for it but if not then maybe skip this one.

What do you think about THE RETURN OF THE WITCH?
